Comments: Accidentally released from aquaria. Population found in Florida failed to become established (Ref. 6029). Reported as having been collected in the wild but is not known to be reproducing (Ref. 13364). A popular aquarium fish, found in 70% of pet shops near Lakes Erie and Ontario (Ref. 53249). Collected in Lake Worth Drainage District canal L-15, west of Atlantis and Lantana, adjacent to a fish farm in Palm Beach County, Florida, in 1969 and 1970.     Ref:  Welcomme, R.L., 1988
